I think Injustice Gods Among Us is really about time travel or alternate dimensions. Throughout the trailers for this game everyone has  been noticing that someone is suppose to be dead or that they have an outfit they only wear in this universe. I think that it has a lot to do with alternate universes(or at least time travel). 

Plot: So I think that joker straight killed a lot of people like the trailers tease. Superman got overly mad at him and did what batman wouldn’t do and kilt him. I think this is either where time travel comes in or alternate universe come in. Time travel wise superman could be a very low point and feel guilty for killing joker so he goes into seclusion. A superman from the future comes back to control the world from falling into chaos and destruction  Wonder woman comes with him and they gather other super heroes from this time and create this regime. And the story goes on. This explains some things but I think that the alternate universe theory is more stronger for many of reasons.

Okay, After superman kills joker he leaves earth or go into seclusion to think about things and grieve Louis. The alternate universe Wonder Woman and  Superman come and establish the regime. They pose as the original two. They would have to lock away wonder woman and superman if he is around to fool everyone.

Now they sound pretty similar and you may think why is this important that its either time travel or alternate universe. Here is why. 

Time travel suggest that the people can travel through time and I have a hard time thinking superman would just leave Louis dead and not go back further to stop the whole event. I think if he had time travel he would still start the regime, but before joker got a chance to finish his plan. He probably still kill joker. Plus if you look at alternate costumes people look a lot different from there regular self.  Superman and Wonder Woman seem to have a darker aura about them in there armored battle suits(which i am assuming is the alt universe of themselves or future versions of themselves). They would have tried to change the world in there time, but it would have failed. For them to travel they would have to kill batman and other heroes because he wouldn’t dare let them go mind control everyone. I really don’t like batman, but him dying is nearly impossible and they(Netherealm studios) wouldn’t do it to the fan boys, but never say never.

Alternate Universe is perfect because of it not having to contradict the Superman and Wonder Woman we know and love. I don”t think superman would ever impose himself upon us. He know he can change the world for the better, but he doesn’t. He sees it everyday, but his morality won’t let him. That just doesn’t change over time. An alternate universe of them could be ruthless and willing to completely control man. Also if the world was going to chaos Wonder Woman would return to her island to rule her people. I couldn’t see her helping superman take over man, but her alternate self could be evil and willing.

Only other reasons I can see Superman and Wonder Woman doing these things is Mind Control…. Reanimation….. I mean really that’s it. Or it could simply be the deaths of millions set wonder woman and superman off enough to say we will rule the earth for its better.

If it isn’t time travel or alternate universes I would be deeply upset because I think these are the best way to execute it and helps with breaking down the plot. I don’t think everyone in the game has an alternate universe of themselves, but It is possible. Who ever is good in   one universe is bad in the other. Like if green lantern from this earth joins alt superman and wonder woman… then alt green lantern would be on batman side.

With so little information there is a lot of speculation. Hopefully you have liked my opinions and think they are valid or hold some truth or just interesting. P.S. while I watching someone go over the star labs mission they had a mission where it was superman verse and alternate universe superman. It said it and everything. The alt superman had the armored outfit on while reg superman had on his usual outfit.
